Haiku Diaries

5/9/11
Back to school again
Learning and putting up boards
Then cooked lasagne.

6/9/11
The rain, it raineth
We huddle in the school hall
And teachers are taught

7/9/11
The children return
New class, yet all seems the same
New housemates also.

8/9/11
A calm day at work
Fell asleep with the light on
So tired was I.

9/9/11
A day working hard
Followed by drinking hard too
Karaoke shame.

10/9/11
Restocked my wardrobe
Recognised by pawnbrokers
Not fans of my song.

11/9/11

The Thames Festival
Skeletal Horses ride proud
Fireworks sing loud.

12/9/11
Two and a half hours
Far to long to work unpaid
Feed me and leave me.

13/9/11
Another long day
Fuck work and yaay lasagne
Reading old humour.

14/9/11
Most fed up today
Someone ditched my red post card
I can't get my book.

15/9/11
Out of work on time
So off to the pub again
And curry after.

16/9/11
Safe, warm and cosy
Soft bed with just a few fleas
Living like a king.

17/9/11
British Museum
For laughter with my sister
Then, Samuel Johnson's.

Haiku Diaries

1/9/11
Friends, booze, food and games
Hide and seek behind a hedge
Just one of those days.

2/9/11
Tidy the party
I decide to be arty
Create a monster

3/9/11
Back to work Monday
After six weeks of pleasure
Ended with a play

4/9/11
A review written
A chicken roasted, eaten
And chats with my folks

Haiku Diaries

27/8/11
Along with my folks
To London's Olympia
But it's not open.

28/8/11
Sunday roast with folks
Well dones to expectant friends
and home to my fleas.

29/8/11
Reading and writing
Stilton and port and fruit pie
Smiling calm am I.

30/8/11
Allied against fleas
Team tidy tirelessly
Victory is ours

31/8/11
Some blighters survived
So the war continues still
But read a good book.

Yours

My trip away....in haiku.

I was challenged by a friend to write a haiku diary. I start with the entries about a trip away to Lancashire to see some of my oldest and bestest friends.

19/8/11
Blackburn to see Carl
Eight hours by coach. Worth it.
Old friends don't change much.

20/8/11
Grace, Carl and I took
nostalgic drinks in old pubs
I kipped on grass verge.

21/8/11
Bleary eyes and head
Bickering, joking, laughing
Ate Salford curry

22/8/11
Kate Bush-ing on moors
Sitting on top of the world
Eternal ride home.

23/8/11
Home, safe and knackered
The fleas are biting again
So pleased to see me

24/8/11
Itchiness awake!
The fleas, on the move again
But the novel crawls

25/8/11
Disappointing day
Gave in to lazy urges
All play and no work

- Hmmm, mysterious in haiku aren't they? Maybe I shall improve.

Yours
